What are the responsibilities and job description for the 3D CAD Designer / Mechanical Designer position at Qualdoc?
3D CAD Designer
The CAD Designer will play a critical role in supporting a special project for a manufacturer of industrial and mechanical solutions. Designs new products and makes improvements to existing products using CAD software. Works with other members of the engineering staff to ensure that drawing/BOM changes are completed in a timely manner.
This is a contract position with potential to go full time based on performance and business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Resolve drawing issues and/or make changes for the shop floor immediately.
- Resolve material issues for customer orders.
- Resolve and make corrections for:
- Bill of Material Errors
- Missing/Unclear Dimension(s)
- Clarification on Drawing Notes
- Drawing changes will require appropriate ECN’s to track and record the changes made.
- Make drawing updates in the PDM software
- Resolve questions on common/duplicate components
- Engineering Support for Procurement dealing with vendor changes.
- Resolve assembly questions.
- Find missing information/answering questions as they arise on the shop floor.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Engineering, Computer Aided Drafting and Design, or a similar field
- 2-4 years of experience in CAD design
- 3 years of experience in 3D design in Inventor (or a similar 3D design software like Solidworks or Pro-E)
- Experience using Vault PDM software
Preferred Skills:
- experience in industrial piping and / or sheet metal design
- experience with P&ID's
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- Must pass a criminal background check (7 year felony sex offender)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test (10-panel for recreational drugs and opiates)
- Must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19
Shift:
- Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm
Pay:
- $30-35/hour
