Position: Crane Systems Maintenance Specialist
Location/s: Ashland, VA (Job will be done in Central Virginia)
Duration: 3 months contract (possible to extend or convert depending on performance and need)
Pay Rate: $20.00 - $35.00/hr. (Depending on skills and experience)
Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday - Friday); Must be flexible to attend to the on-call schedule

Job Description:
Qualdoc is currently seeking a proficient Crane Systems Maintenance Specialist to support customers in Central, VA. Responsibilities encompass diagnosing and resolving mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical components and circuits is required for addressing breakdowns.
\n- Conduct thorough inspections of industrial cranes and hoists to ensure adherence to Manufacturing, OSHA, and ANSI standards.
- Proficiently troubleshoot and repair overhead material handling equipment, with a strong emphasis on motor control systems.
- Execute scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Facilitate effective communication with customers and the office while interfacing to repair equipment as necessary.
- Evaluate and propose recommendations for necessary repairs, maintaining a high level of communication with both customers and the office.
- Adapt to diverse work environments and conditions as per assignments.
- Occasionally engage in overtime.
- Perform tasks at elevated heights and handle heavy lifting.
- Applicants with fewer qualifications may be considered at a lower level.
- Proficient in AC/DC theory, adept at troubleshooting 480VAC 3-phase motor control systems, and possess a strong mechanical aptitude.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance or equivalent military background.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, comfortable working at heights.
- Proficient in electrical troubleshooting, with expertise in drives, gearboxes, and field welding (tack).
- Proven experience in motor and drive troubleshooting.
- Skills include rigging and hanging steel, along with blueprint reading.
- OSHA 10/30 certification preferred.
- Expected weekly workload averages 50-60 hours.
- On-call duty may be required one week per month, contingent on hiring seniority.
- Must pass a criminal background check (7-year felony sex offender)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test (10 panels for recreational drugs and opiates)
