LOCATION: Baxter, TN

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a leader who will be responsible for the selection and management of a best-in-class supply network that supports one of our client's business strategies and provides a competitive advantage in the marketplace. Position reports to Director of Marketing & Outsourcing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Working cross-functionally, own the development and execution of sourcing strategies that produce tangible value through the implementation of process and projects that yield a reduced total cost, revenue, and gross margin improvement, supply base alignment, enhanced product quality, and overall reduction of risk.
  • Lead supplier selection process, develop successful vendor partnerships to create long term strategic partnerships, new relationships, and continuous improvement of existing relationships. Drive consensus on ultimate supplier selection and award business.
  • Collaborate with product development to select vendors that enable target gross profit achievements, sustainability goals, and best in class product assortments to maximize sales and positioning.
  • Maintain all contracts and evaluate all performance according to contract and ensure efficient flow of all conditions in contract.
  • Serve as a main point of contact between company and vendors to resolve issues.
  • Be an industry expert with a thorough and technical knowledge of products, industry, vendors, competition, and trends. Continually assess industry trends in order to provide strategic guidance necessary for short- and long-term planning.
  • Own P&L for sourced products including gross profit, inventory management, item productivity and overall assortment framework.
  • Successfully negotiate lowest prices and best terms while ensuring quality specifications are met or exceeded.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance and ensure quality level meets standards. Ensure that all procurement practices are following applicable regulations and laws.
  • Collaborate with design and other marketing areas regarding key topics, design – and color concepts, reports and communication.
  • Collaborate to provide product proposals, costs, tool plans and development schedules to other cross-functional resources for evaluation.
  • Partner with Sales team to execute best assortments by channel. Ensure product assortments are sufficient to satisfy all market needs. Collaborate on product and sales presentations; conduct training on product line related topics.
  • Work with Inventory teams to improve turns and inventory levels through forecasting, vendor management and overall product transitions.
  • Work with finance on forecasts and margin analysis and maximization.
  • Oversee quality process, vendor contracts, vendor set-up documentation, item setup and management accuracy, purchase order management, packaging and spec sheet management.
  • Manage process for any price change notifications and ensure proper loading in systems.
  • Ensure daily operations of procurement vendors runs smoothly and efficiently by enforcing company policies and procedures.
  • Develop transparent communication of supplier measurement, development, dashboards, and quarterly business reviews process.
  • Develop and deliver routine business summaries and reports to vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • None. Works cross functionally.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5 years buying/sourcing building material products.
  • 3 years Product development experience; flooring products preferred.
  • Sourcing experience with Tile and/or flooring preferred.
  • Proven negotiation skills with positive outcomes and ongoing mutually beneficial business relationships
  • Strategic thinker with proven experience of ability to recognize, influence and maximize trends in the market.
  • Experience in an international business environment is seen as an asset.
  • High level of proficiency with all Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Solid understanding of legal and contract terms and conditions
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding proprietary company information.
  • Entrepreneurial drive to take a business into new, uncharted territory.
  • Ability to work well in an autonomous, unstructured environment.
  • Must be both hands on and strategic with the ability to navigate between the two
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Physical demands for this position frequently include: the ability to remain in a stationary position, move about freely inside and outside of the office, and the operation of mechanical controls, such as a keyboard.
