Position Summary

The position of Account Representative plays a crucial role in fostering and maintaining strong relationships with our valued clients. This individual will be responsible for driving sales growth, ensuring customer satisfaction, and contributing to the overall success of our business.

The Account Representative will build relationships with current and prospective clients to ensure satisfaction, pursue new business opportunities, and expand revenue by making sure QBI’s products and services consistently meet client needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Understand clients’ needs and provide tailored solutions to enhance their experience.


Sales and Revenue Generation:
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand market share within the life-science industry.


Product Knowledge:
  • Possess a deep understanding of QBI’s product offerings, including cell culture media, buffers, and molecular biology reagents.
  • Effectively communicate product features, benefits, and applications to customers.


Market Research:
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and market dynamics.
  • Provide insights to the management team for the development of new products and services.


Order Management:
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate order processing.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns related to orders, deliveries, and product information.


Reporting and Analysis:
  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, customer feedback, and market trends.
  • Analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.


Reporting Structure

This position requires a significant amount of direct management and reports directly to the President and CEO with a dotted line to the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications.


Work Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or a related field.
  • Experience in sales or account management, preferably within the life science or biomedical industry.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Results-oriented with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • PC skills and experience with data management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to tactfully manage demanding situations and troubleshooting skills.
  • Consistently demonstrate the ability to recognize and respond to changing priorities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • A commitment to success and quality of work.

Work Environment: This position requires that the incumbent visit customer sites and work in an office environment.

Expected Hours of Work: Some flexibility of hours and telework may be allowed, but all employees must be available during “core” work hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
