**Position: Cath Lab Registered Nurse**
**Location: Coos Bay, Oregon**
**Job Description:**
Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay, Oregon, is seeking experienced RNs to join our Medical Care Unit team. As a Cath Lab Registered Nurse, you will apply the nursing process to the care of patients, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, and document patient care in the medical record. The position involves teaching patients and their families, responding effectively to patient crisis/emergency situations, and utilizing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
**Responsibilities:**
- Apply the nursing process to provide excellent patient care
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team for coordinated patient care
- Teach patients and their families as part of the care process
- Document patient care in the medical record system
- Respond effectively to patient crisis/emergency situations
- Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills in daily tasks
**Qualifications:**
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Oregon (Required)
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required)
- Cardiac Cath Lab RN experience (Required)
- Recent (within past 5 years) acute care hospital experience (Preferred)
**Skills and Abilities:**
- Proficiency in the use of computers, including internet access, word processing, and electronic medical record systems
- Effective communication in the English language, both in writing and speaking
- Flexibility to prioritize and adapt to rapidly-changing patient and unit needs
- Effective teaching skills
- Manual dexterity and physical capability to perform nursing duties
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and use standard precautions
