We're looking for RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening. The right RN should have 2 years or more of recent experience.

As a Travel Nurse, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

Provide basic bedside care.
Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients.
Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology!
Able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
Able to easily lift 20 pounds. Moving or lifting of patients may require lifting of up to 50 pounds at times.

This is a high acuity, fast-paced unit that requires teamwork and strong communication skills. First Time Travelers Accepted. Travelers will be expected to float.

Paid Weekly
Weekly Gross $3,112.00
Hourly Rate $ 16.25/hr
OT Rate $24.38/hr
Weekly Stipend $2527.00
Blended rate $86.44hr
13 Week contract
36 hrs/week, 3x12 Nights (12 hrs)

Job Description:
Job Title: Clinical Nurse

Schedule: 3x12 Nights, 19:00:00-07:00:00

Position Summary:
The clinical nurse coordinates and performs a variety of nursing care procedures for patients of all ages, requiring professional knowledge and consideration of specific patient conditions and treatments. The role involves working independently to complete assignments and adhering to guidelines including provider's orders, standards of care, nursing policies and procedures manuals, and hospital policies. The clinical nurse provides support to individuals of all ages and their families.

Responsibilities:
- Make independent clinical decisions during the scheduled shift, maintaining complete accountability for all actions taken.
- Consult with the appropriate manager/supervisor and/or ancillary department in difficult situations requiring additional input or resources.
- React calmly and make sound nursing judgments in emergent situations.
- Delegate and supervise CNA/Tech responsibilities properly.
- Promote the SEARHC Seven Standards of Excellence.
- Implement safe, therapeutic, and efficient care for patients with complex needs.
- Set priorities for patient care based on acuity and patient preferences.
- Anticipate potential problems and adapt to changes in patient status or unusual occurrences.
- Initiate, manage, and document nursing procedures based on scientific principles and departmental policy.
- Administer age-specific medications and therapeutics accurately.
- Carry out the medical and nursing care plan in coordination with physicians and other healthcare team members.
- Take action to reduce, correct, or prevent immediate, ongoing, or potential risks to the patient.
- Provide individualized and goal-oriented nursing care based on scientific principles and the nursing process.
- Explain tests, procedures, and disease processes to patients and their families.
- Educate patients and demonstrate essential skills for understanding and coping with illness.
- Communicate and interact with patients and their families in a positive and supportive manner.
- Provide counseling and utilize other healthcare professionals to address psychosocial problems, if necessary.
- Evaluate patient progress towards goals, adjust care plans, and document patient responses to care.
- Assure the confidentiality of patient information.
- Perform nursing assessments through interviewing, observation, and the nursing process.
- Obtain, interpret, and apply age-related patient information, considering cognitive, physical, emotional, and growth/development needs.
- Complete thorough nursing admission databases and initial patient assessments.
- Identify problems and nursing diagnoses, distinguishing between normal and abnormal assessments.
- Develop and contribute to a plan of nursing action based on existing and potential patient problems and obtainable patient responses.
- Transcribe and note physician orders accurately.
- Utilize past experience to provide a range of options for nursing care.
- Document reassessments, including laboratory results, diagnostic findings, interdisciplinary notes, and patient observations.
- Participate in patient care conferences, identify educational needs, and develop educational programs.
- Engage in ongoing evaluation of teaching effectiveness and patient understanding.
- Communicate with staff, patients, and other healthcare team members in a supportive and positive manner.
- Provide feedback to staff and healthcare team members to support achievement.
- Assist in the orientation of new staff, travelers, and students.
- Follow corporate, hospital, and departmental policies, procedures, and patient care standards.
- Support the area and overall nursing services mission.
- Attend and participate in departmental staff meetings.
- Comply with scheduling guidelines, participate in goal setting, and discuss issues with nurse manager.
- Complete required trainings, maintain certifications and licensure, and comply with dress code.
- Address employee concerns consistent with Human Resources policy.
- Perform as Contact RN, leading assigned RNs and CNAs, and accomplishing assigned patient care and area support activities.

Baseline Qualifications:
- Education: Valid, current, full, and unrestricted RN license in the State of Alaska.
- Experience: One-year clinical nurse experience preferred.
