PURPOSE The position is responsible for properly ordering, receiving, storing, and accounting for parts or merchandise. BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Receives deliveries from vendors, FedEx and UPS shipments
- Responsible for prepping items for shipment and completing shipping paperwork for FedEx and UPS
- Prepares items for shipment for internal branch transfers. Receives and distributes items received via internal branch transfer.
- Unloads parts and attachment freight deliveries received via semi trailers.
- Assists in keeping parts department, showroom and parts warehouse clean and orderly.
- Responsible for keeping pallets stacked & bundled in a manner ready for shipment.
- Assists in gathering and shipping return parts to appropriate vendors
- Assists with perpetual and end of year inventory audits, as needed.
- Timely processing of parts shipments (ie, Customer & Stock Orders, Machine Down, and Surplus Returns)
- Posts freight to work order or counter tickets as need for parts orders and transfers (if applicable)
- Performs cycle counting duties to ensure that all materials are properly verified to be reflective of reported inventory; reports discrepancies of over/under amounts and any damaged products
- Assists supervisor with merchandising displays by re-stocking showroom inventory
- Works in Saturday parts rotation as necessary
- Other duties as required, for overall location functionality.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS - High School Diploma or equivalent experience
- Experience connecting with customers, maintaining professional image, and establishing rapport
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects simultaneously with a degree of independence
- Basic data entry/keyboarding skills
- Basic parts and machinery knowledge
- Ability to use the John Deere Parts programs and other related computer applications
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Valid driver’s license required for potential driving situations, preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS - Weight Requirements: Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Mobility: Squatting, bending, lifting, reaching, twisting, standing, sitting and repetitive keyboarding for long durations of time
- Visual: Working with smart devices and manuals
- Driving: Occasional – Short and long distances
- Dexterity: Ability to grasp and manipulate standard tools and office equipment
