Summary:  Facilitate the workflow of projects through the catalog, graphics, and photography departments by managing, organizing, collecting, and adjusting the data for all new and existing styles offered by Quality Gold, to produce a finished product.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate the production of marketing and sales collateral material like catalogs, flyers, and web presentations.
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret vendor data (i.e.,invoices, product descriptions, and pricing) and use visual inspection of product to determine product specifications.
  • Write product descriptions and input product data within Excel spreadsheets to load into the main database as well as to appear on sales materials.
  • Prepare product for photography – includes identifying style numbers, determining layout, and placement of products visually on a page by merging new and existing products together as a collection.
  • Work with graphics division to create desired page and project presentation.
  • Proofread catalog pages, various Excel spreadsheets, and text document contents for accuracy.
  • Prepare, clean, double check, measure and organize product samples.
  • Interact with marketing team, other Quality Gold departments and outside vendors.
  • Complete and lead special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Work within strict deadlines to complete projects when they are due.
  • Regular attendance and compliance with the Company’s handbook policies and procedures.

Competencies:

  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Alpha and numeric data entry skills.
  • Beginning to intermediate skills using MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Organizational skills to track details of multiple items & projects.
  • Problem solving skills to research and determine the cause and solution of an issue.
  • Ability to stay focused and work independently for long periods of time.
  • Ability to proofread data and descriptions to ensure accuracy of materials.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with people at all levels within the company and work as a team.
  • Ability to retain large amounts of information.
  • Basic math skills for weighing and measuring products.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  No supervisor responsibilities.

Work Environment:

This position is working in an indoor, climate-controlled office located within the secure warehouse area and requires occasional work with product in the warehouse at various times.  Dust from packages, spray from jewelry cleaning solution and noises from warehouse machinery are prevalent when working in the warehouse areas.  This position uses typical office equipment such as a computer, monitor and keyboard, filing cabinets, printers, and cameras.

Individuals working in the "secure area" must follow the Company's Secure Area Dress Code and Security policies and procedures.  All clothing must be free from metal, and no metal may be worn into the secure area of the building.  Any metal inside or outside the body due to a medical condition must be visually inspected, or reasonable accommodations may be made.

Physical Demands:

  • Sitting at a desk, using a computer keyboard, and viewing a computer screen for long periods of times. 
  • Requires walking on level surfaces within office and warehouse areas.
  • Bending, reaching, stretching, twisting, and light lifting of up to 20 pounds.
  • Use of fine motor skills for pinching and grasping.
  • Use of vision to evaluate product and see color in its true form.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

Full-Time hours Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a flexible eight-hour between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. upon completion of training and ability to work independently.   Saturday work and overtime hours may be required as needed to meet project deadlines.

Travel:  No travel is required for this position.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Post secondary Education.
  • Prior experience proofreading.
