Maintenance Worker

Quality Inn Maintenance Technician:

Oversees: the building facilities and guest rooms.

Responsible for preventive maintenance, special projects, and communicating larger maintenance needs to the General Manager and Director of Maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities

General

1. Follow property’s grooming and appearance guidelines, including wearing a provided maintenance uniform and name tag at all times on property.

2. Provide General Manager with parts requisition forms to maintain part supply as needed.

3. Complete tasks and assignments assigned daily.

4. Practice safe working conditions under Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines, including Blood borne Pathogens guidelines.

5. Practice safe chemical handling in accordance with Material Safety and Data Sheets.

6. Perform other such duties assigned by General Manager or Director of Maintenance to meet guest or operational needs.

Common Guest Areas and Interior

1. Performs maintenance repairs in the following areas:

• Lighting,
• Basic Electrical circuits and wiring,
• Plumbing,
• Guest room and bathroom walls,
• Appliances,
• Doors and locks,
• Furniture,
• Floor coverings.
• 3. Paints walls, ceilings, doors and trim as needed.

4. Maintains clean, organized maintenance workshop and storage rooms/areas.

Skills Needed

1. General knowledge of electric and plumbing skills installing bathtubs, drywall, texturing walls, installing LVP.

2. Knowledge and ability to use basic work tools and equipment.

3. Ability to patch holes, clean carpets, and paint walls.

4. Ability to work efficiently under limited supervision.

5. Ability to work well with others in all hotel departments.

6. Professional and courteous when interacting with guests.

7. Strong work ethic.

8. Must be able to work alone and work independently and on task.

Physical Requirements

1. Ability to bend at waist and work on knees.

2. Ability to reach over head.

3. Ability to push and pull items and equipment.

4. Ability to stand for long periods of time.

5. Ability to walk two flights of stairs.

6. Ability to work outside in hot or cold weather.

7. Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
