Waste Yard Sanitation Technician
Summary:
Local State agency is seeking Waste Yard Sanitation Technicians to add to their team. This position will provide general labor and maintenance support at assigned facilities under the supervision of the facility manager. Must have reliable transportation and have excellent attendance.
Essential Functions:
· Collect wind-blown litter
· Consolidate white goods, scrap metal, scrap tires and mattresses received at the facility
· Maintain grounds using power mowers, trimmers, hand tools, and related equipment
· Perform general cleaning and janitorial work such as cleaning up work areas and administrative areas
· Perform minor building maintenance such as caulking windows and doors, patching cracks, and painting
· Assist drivers and equipment operators with tarping trailers
· Direct on-site customer traffic
· Inspect and document materials coming into and leaving the facility
· Fuel vehicles and equipment
· Other duties as assigned
Skills and Competencies
· One year of general labor experience helpful
Physical Requirements
· Able to lift up to 50 pounds
· Able to work in all weather conditions
· Must be physically able to climb a 3 story tall hill to collect blowing trash
Schedule:
· 1st Shift: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm
Compensation:
· $15.00 an hour
