We are looking for a Child Care Teacher to encourage the healthy
intellectual and psychological growth of the children in our facilities. You
will teach and supervise them while also motivating them to use their mental
capacities and exercise their imagination.
Duties
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times, being alert for the needs and/or problems of the children as individuals and as a group.
Plan curriculum for assigned class.
Implement the daily schedule with the help of assistant.
Decorate the room with bulletin boards, pictures, children’s art, and other hangings. Decorate the door according to theme or holiday. Be Creative!
Assist children during snacks and lunch. Sit with them while they eat.
Complete 16 hours of mandatory training, related to your age group, per year.
Keep director informed in advance of program needs, which include maintenance or repair of equipment, along with supplies.
Be familiar with and follow all policies in the staff handbook.
If position requires, obtain and maintain CPR, First Aid and MAT training.
Provide director with weekly lesson plans.
Report to director any special needs or problems of individual children, and any cases of suspected child abuse or neglect.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding children and their families.
Maintaining professional conduct and attitudes in working with parents, staff, visitors, and the general public.
Requirements
Preferred child care experience.
High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
A strong understanding of child development.
Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
Must have high school diploma or GED
Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
Leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
