As a Process Engineering Co-op, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of process engineering within our organization. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will contribute to the optimization, design, and improvement of our manufacturing processes. This position offers a unique chance to apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting and make meaningful contributions to our company's success. This position will report to the Director of Engineering who will serve as your mentor.  

Duration: July 8th – December 20th 

  

Responsibilities:  

· Process Optimization: Collaborate with the process engineering team to identify opportunities for improving efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness of manufacturing processes.

· Application Engineering: Assist in gathering data that would be used to characterize and differentiae our products.

· Process Design: Assist in the design and development of new manufacturing processes or modifications to existing processes, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

· Troubleshooting: Participate in troubleshooting efforts to address operational issues, equipment failures, and deviations from process parameters.

· Documentation: Prepare technical documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), process flow diagrams, and equipment specifications.

· Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as R&D, quality assurance, and production, to support process-related initiatives and projects.

· Continuous Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by implementing lean principles, participating in root cause analysis, and suggesting innovative solutions.

· Safety and Compliance: Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.

Criteria for Success:  

· Possess a collaborative team-oriented mindset and personality with a hands-on can-do attitude. 

· Able to develop, organize and communicate clear objectives and metrics. 

· Able to communicate process updates, issues, etc. effectively with operators and team members. 

· Proactive and enterprising thinker able to switch tasks and prioritize projects as needed. 

· Attention to detail is critical. 

· Excellent planning, time management and organization skills 

· Students pursuing degrees in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or Material Sciences.  Will consider other majors depending on experience.   

· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint
