We are looking for Mechanical Engineering Technology or Manufacturing Engineering students interested in working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to support multiple people and manage multiple diverse tasks and projects, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

This role is based in our Herndon, VA office.
Essential Job Functions:
- Support production of mechanical and electrical system parts and assemblies by:
- Assisting in getting quotes for parts and assemblies
- Ordering and receiving parts while tracking against a Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Packaging parts and preparing and managing shipments
- Inventory management and organization
- Assist engineers in the design, development, testing, inspection, installation, and operation of optical, mechanical, and electrical components and assemblies
- Build and operate custom electro-mechanical testing setups with flexibility to adapt to new challenges during debug processes
- Assist with recording test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in products or test methods; compare test results to design specifications and test objectives
- Conduct part inspections and generate inspection reports
- Operate basic fabrication equipment such as drill press, hand tools, manual lathe, etc.
- Work with Engineering teams to evaluate and complete departmental projects within budget and schedule constraints
- Interact with and support customers and engineering teams
What are we looking for?
- Pursuing Associate's or Bachelor's in a Sciences related field with extra weight given to Engineering/Technologies majors
- Relevant Technician experience
- Ability to stand continuously as well as bend, squat, and lift frequently
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally
- Must be a US Person (US Citizen or US Permanent Resident)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building in a clean room environment and related equipment
- Knowledge of electrical enclosures, wire harness assembly and soldering, adhesives/bonding, and kitting and receive instructions
- Understanding of tooling for inspections such as gauge pins, thread tapping, calipers, volt meters, and power meters
- Hands-on experience with building from assembly drawings
- Experience with handling equipment such as:
- High pressure systems
- ESD Sensitive electronics
- Variety of testing equipment and program interfaces
