Accounts Payable Specialist

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the tracking and payment of all bills received for the daily operations of the Casino Queen. Working closely with the Purchasing department, the Accounts Payable Specialist will coordinate all payments in a timely manner to reduce waste and increase transparency in the Accounting Department.

• · Participate regularly in departmental and company meetings.
• · Accurately code received invoices into the accounting system
• · Process payments according to established schedule
• · Coordinate with the Purchasing department to verify payments required
• · Reconcile Company credit card statements and verify any outstanding debts
• · Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports
• · Work to assist the CFO/Controller to eliminate waste
• · Prepare and maintain a schedule of payments
• · Prepare checks for mailing
• · Oversee on-line bill payments
• · Maintain an accurate virtual and physical filing system of invoices
• · Conduct investigations into irregularities within the A/P division
• · Exercise initiative to improve efficiency in processes
• · Learn, implement, and stay current with all rules, laws, regulations, policies, and Internal Controls pertaining to the Accounting department
• · Must be able to apply knowledge gained from training, education and work experience
• · Must be friendly and courteous at all times
• · Must be able to apply customer service standards as directed
• · Able to satisfactorily complete assignable work requested by the Shift Manager
• · Report any safety hazards, problems, or maintenance issues immediately to your supervisor
• · Ensure customer service standards are met and retained.
• · Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• · 2-years finance experience in a high-volume environment, preferred
• · High School Diploma/GED, required
• · Bachelor’s degree, preferred
• · Previous casino experience, preferred.
• · Great Plains experience preferred
• · Must be 21 years of age or older
• · Must have excellent mathematical skills
• · Must have 10-key experience
• · Must have strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, preferably in Excel
• · Must be able to work Weekends and Holidays
• · Able to effectively communicate in English via verbal and written
• · Must be able to obtain and maintain a state Gaming License
