GENERAL SUMMARY:

 

This job is responsible for preparing detailed drawings and /or models of oilfield production equipment designs and planning for mechanical, civil, vessels, and piping according to specifications provided by Engineering.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Work directly with design engineers to produce drawings and models from sketches, existing drawings, and electronic images.
  • Calculate tolerance stack-ups to verify design fit-up.
  • Design parts based on written and verbal descriptions from design engineers.
  • Work closely with all departments in the company to ensure that the drawings convey the correct information and are error free.
  • Work from customer drawings, company drawings, government drawings or specifications.
  • Produce the piping Bill of Materials
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

 

  • Ability to design based off P&ID, sketches, or photographs
  • Strong mechanical design approach
  • Ability to model complex piping and equipment layouts
  • Must be able to collaboratively work in a team environment
  • Working knowledge of ASME Section VIII

 

EDUCATION, LICENSES AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Oil & Gas related drafting experience to include the following:  Piping, skids, ASME code vessels and/or Oil & Gas Heater Systems
  • Experience in electrical drafting a plus
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associate degree or CAD certification with suitable experience may be substituted
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in 3D designing required
  • Experience drafting ASME Code Vessels preferred
  • Experience interpreting P&IDs preferred
  • Experience with instrumentation and controls is a plus

  • Work Environment:  Minimal exposure to elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or moderate noises

  • Travel:  Potential of 25% travel required; includes visits to existing facilities and construction sites and may involve in and out of state travel to branch offices and/or other remote locations
  • Location:  This position is in Tulsa, Oklahoma
