Quality Inspector

Job Summary

The Quality Inspector oversees and performs the process of inspections and quality checks as defined by latest revisions of processes, procedures, and checklists.

Primary Job Functions

• Oversee inspection/examination of incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring that they meet requirements.
• Assist in the monitoring, measurement, and review of internal processes.
• Perform all First Article Inspections (FAI).
• Responsible for overseeing the calibration for all measuring devices.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Training

• High school diploma or GED required.

Experience

• CMM 1 to 3 years’ experience required. Mitutoyo Software a plus.
• Proficient in the use of all manual measuring devices.
• Scanning experience a plus (Faro/Control X)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
• Proficient skills in reading and interpreting part prints and understand GD&T
• Proficient math skills and understanding X, Y, Z coordinates and measurements.
• Proficient in creating ballooned drawings and completing FAI inspection paperwork.
• 3D software experience helpful.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, and management skills.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Working Environment / Physical Demands

• Office and manufacturing/light production floor environment with ventilation, climate-control system, moderate lighting, and moderate noise level.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
• Use vision to see, analyze, and adjust.
• Light to moderate lifting is required.
• Regular, predictable attendance is required; including quarter-driven hours as business demands dictate.
• Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.
• Use finger and hand dexterity to type, adjust, move, handle, perform, operate, install, attach, remove, apply, grasp, grip, manipulate, and measure.
• Periodically move, transport, rotate, reach, pull, twist, adjust position, push, stand, stoop, bend and crouch.
