WE ARE LOOKING FOR AN OUTSTANDING OPERATIONS DOCK SUPERVISOR  IN OUR LA PALMA, CA FACILITY!

Position Summary:  The Operations Dock Supervisor is responsible for ensuring maximum efficiency in day-to-day operations and all policies/procedures, that are related to products being received into the warehouse, are followed daily by: effective use of associates, ensuring associates comply with all safety policies, and all products are checked for quality and accuracy. Some additional responsibilities will also include quality assurance, shipping, sortation and high lift, in addition to receiving and other warehouse activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: 
  • Overseeing daily receiving and shipping processes on the dock and ensure preferred work methods are being followed by associates.
  • Directly supervise the day-to-day activities/mechanisms in accordance with the SOP's, holding a team of associates accountable to standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Manage specific warehouse activities including, but not limited to: Inbound, receiving, shipping, inventory control, following up on completion of assigned tasks, and sortation on a timely basis.
  • Oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure order accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
  • Assist Operations Manager in planning, prioritizing, and communicating shift directives to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and quality is met and submit reports as required.
  • Assist associates in driving forklifts, unloading trucks, receiving the product, sorting, loading trucks, or cleaning warehouse.
  • Partner with senior management to implement and maintain proper layout of warehouse and product placement.
  • Ensure the physical condition of warehouse and equipment are properly maintained and documented.
  • Ensure key performance indicators are met or exceeded by monitoring performance metrics, conducting unannounced inspections, ensuring inventory accuracy, etc.
  • Hands on coaching, training, and mentoring direct reports to ensure personal growth and career development.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all operating systems pertaining to the work area and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) as needed.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for direct reports and address performance problems through corrective action and disciplinary process.
  • Understand labor agreement and maintain positive labor relations with all employees.
  • Identify, document, and implement opportunities for continuous process improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
High School Diploma required
Bachelor’s degree preferred
At least 3 years of experience in a lead or supervisor role preferably in a sortation, fulfillment, distribution, or manufacturing environment in the Inbound department
Previous experience in Third Party Logistics (3PL) or distribution facility required

Skills and Abilities:
  • Detail oriented and able to work multiple tasks at one time while communicating progress on a constant basis.
  • Ability to adjust strategy on the fly while functioning in a fast-paced environment to obtain operational goals.
  • Must be technologically savvy; experience with an Order Management System, Warehouse Management System, or Labor Management System is highly desirable.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to build a cohesive team that exemplifies Quiet Logistics’ core values. Demonstrated leadership skills to influence, implement, and manage change within the department.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects and set priorities.
  • Identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities; possess solid judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises employees in the Warehouse and Sortation Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Ability to work between an office setting and warehouse environment.
  • Ability to lift and/or move objects up to and including 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand or walk continuously for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Willing and able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, reach and climb and descend stairs safely.
  • Ability to work in a typical California climate warehouse.

Salary : $59,100 - $74,900
