Reporting to the Director of the Contact Center. The Clinical Care Specialist is a telephonic position that is responsible for clinical inquiries from patients. This position utilizes company policy to address and solve clinical care concerns and direct calls to appropriate provider teams and manager as needed.
Primary Responsibilities
- Record, review and verify patient information in the EMS.
- Assists patients with clinical care questions.
- Answer inbound patient calls and make outbound calls as needed.
- Assists patients with medication refills and prior authorization for medications.
- Counsel and educate patients by reiterating physician orders for eye care.
- Update patient records using high level of proficiency within the EMS or other related systems.
- Assists with the scheduling of patient appointments as needed.
- Comply with all HIPAA regulations in all interactions with patient information.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Travel: This position resides within the Contact Center at the Administration Office and may require occasional travel.
Quigley Eye Specialists
Qualifications
- High School graduate/GED equivalent
- 3 years prior ophthalmic experience preferred
- COT or COA certification preferred
- Experience with EMS and other medical systems software
- Proficient in computer programs and navigating a computer effectively
- Previous clinical or medical experience
