Summary
Job Purpose
This technician tears down core engines, provides the preliminary inspection, and cleans parts that will be used for remanufacturing.
Wages
$19.26-$27
Starting wage will depend on experience and education. We also offer a total compensation package in addition to base salary.
Responsibilities
Primary (Essential) Duties
- Pressure wash core engines outside & bring in for tear down
- Teardown engine cores, sort and categorize components
- Provide preliminary inspection of blocks and components
- Stamp and identify parts
- Clean all parts using parts washers and equipment
- Detail clean heads, blocks and manifolds
- Magna-flux engine components
- Stage and palletize parts for production prep and machine shop
- Clean work area
- Maintain and perform preventative maintenance on cleaning equipment
- Grind flywheels
- Make minor repairs to blocks, heads, and manifolds such as tapping and making Heli-coil repairs to bolt holes
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to properly use hand, air and electric tools
- Basic knowledge of standard and metric measurements pertaining to tools and fasteners
- Basic knowledge of diesel engines and components
- Ability to take engines apart and put back together
- Possess critical thinking skills
- Ability to work successfully in between tasks and prioritize
- Ability to follow instructions
- Work in a clean, safe and organized manner
- Basic understanding of computers and Microsoft Office
- Ability to read, listen, and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Experience/Education Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 1 years’ experience in the diesel engine industry or equivalent (Preferred)
