What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at QuVa Pharma Inc.?
Our Senior Accountant plays a vital role in supporting the accounting department. Once training is complete, you will be responsible for various segments of the monthly general ledger close, including vendor rebates, absorption, various journal entries, account reconciliations, and other reporting and ad hoc analysis as required for a timely close, while ensuring adherence to internal controls over financial reporting. What the Senior Accountant Does Each Day:
- Month-end financial close processes to include preparation of accruals, and variance explanations for budget to actual and accrual to true-up/actual information, and consolidation of related entities
- Maintain amortization schedules, prepare monthly schedules/entries, and maintain close schedule
- Maintain well-documented workpapers and instructions for journal entries and account reconciliations. As part of the reconciliation process, review the reasonableness of balance sheet and income statement accounts in order to determine that all necessary entries have been recorded
- Compare the actual results to prior period and budgeted results and provide variance explanations on a monthly basis for certain accounts
- Analyze monthly and year-end financial data to ensure that it is recorded accurately, in accordance with GAAP
- Assist in reviewing or preparing ancillary audit schedules and footnotes
- Assistance with research and resolution of capex coding questions and as well as provide guidance to operations as to whether or not certain costs should be recorded as capex or expense
- Maintain and adhere to accounting principles, practices, and procedures in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles ("GAAP"), company policies, and industry practices
- Prepare various sections of the annual budget

Minimum Requirements for this Role:
- Able to successfully complete a drug and background check
- Bachelor's degree with 4 - 5 years of experience in accounting
- Accounting experienced in a manufacturing environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Effective Interpersonal Skill
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; QuVa is not able to sponsor applicants for work visas
