Power BI Developer

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Business Intelligence Developer to join our team. As a Business Intelligence Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our business intelligence solutions. You will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective data models and reports. Duties:
- Design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions using SQL, Python, and other relevant technologies
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand business needs
- Develop data models and ETL processes to transform raw data into meaningful insights
- Create visually appealing and interactive dashboards and reports using tools such as Tableau or Power BI
- Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement
- Optimize database design and query performance for efficient data retrieval
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices in business intelligence

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a BI Developer or Data Scientist

• Industry experience is preferred

• Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining

• In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework

• Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI)

• Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

• Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative

• Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude

• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field

• Experience developing and implementing Power BI solutions, including modelling, design, development and testing of data visualization or paginated report solutions

• Proficiency in Data Analysis (DAX), M, ETL (Power Query), SQL (or data extraction and integration tools) and performance optimization

• Strong ability to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously and work within tight deadlines

• Microsoft Power BI certifications or Azure certifications are an asset

• Experience working in an Agile project delivery model is an asset

• Understanding of complex relational database organization, design, and functionality.

• Ability to communicate clearly in conversation and in presentations to both

technical and non-technical staff and to provide updates to all levels of management and stakeholders

• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute in a high-pressure environment

• Ability to independently set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, a self-starter

• Excellent inter-personal skills including the ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization
