Domestic Account Executive I responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Conduct thorough research to identify potential leads and prospects, develop tailored entrance strategies, and qualify their transportation spend to generate new business opportunities.
- Manage a high volume of outbound phone calls to sell transportation solutions, negotiate rates, and service your existing client network.
- Grow a book of business through identifying, sourcing, and developing relationships with prospective clients.
- Present the full range of services offered by R L Global Logistics to customers, building comprehensive logistics and supply chain solutions that address their unique needs.
- Ensure precise input of customer information into our transportation management system.
- Collaborate closely with the Capacity team to secure load coverage and dispatch arrangements, address shipment challenges, and ensure that shippers and consignees are well-informed.
- Cultivate long-term relationships with clients and carriers by consistently delivering unmatched customer service.
- Utilize upselling techniques to promote and sell additional services.
- Manage a robust sales pipeline, lead generation, and sales funnel.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems that may arise in the course of business.
- Prepare accurate quotes for new and existing business partners in alignment with monthly and quarterly goals.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Required:
- High school diploma or GED is required
- Previous experience selling a “service” to customers or businesses
- Strong negotiation, questioning skills, conflict resolution, and exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented mindset with effective time management and multitasking abilities
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and eagerness to learn and apply sales techniques in a fast-paced environment
- Possess the drive, assertiveness, passion, and dedication required to excel in the logistics industry
- Available to work full-time on-site at our office location
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree is a plus.
- Working knowledge of the sales cycle, a sales pipeline, and a sales funnel is a plus
- Previous experience in full truckload and 3PL sales is a plus
- Familiarity with transportation modes such as dry van, expedited, flatbed, oversized, refrigerated, or intermodal is a plus.
