What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Supervisor position at R&R LLC?
This Tier 1 Automotive Supplier is looking for a lead Maintenance Technician who can handle most of our machine and facilities maintenance, with the help of a few other team members. We are a Full-Service Supplier of machined and assembled castings, forgings and extrusions in aluminum, iron, and steel.
Here at our Michigan facility we've got about 30 major machining centers that you'll be responsible for. Some are older, mechanical machines like lathes, Bridgeports, grinders, while others are more modern CNC machines, and we have some custom/proprietary machinery as well. You'll be responsible for both Preventative maintenance and Troubleshooting/Repair work on ALL of those machines. There is a pretty well established PM schedule and system, which you'll be responsible to maintain, improve and expand over time as machines are changed and added.
Our CNCs operate on Brother, Fanuc, and Okuma controls. Our ERP System is Plex; if you have prior experience with that, that's a big bonus point.
We expect anyone applying to this job to have a very solid, thorough understanding and experience with:
- CNC controls, troubleshooting, repair
- Hydraulics
- Electronics, both controls (PLC) and power supply
- Gas lines, air lines
- Robotics/automation setup, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting
- Maintaining a lean but sufficient parts inventory to prevent any extended outages due to part sourcing lead times
From time to time we purchase used machinery in various states of functionality - we expect you to be able to help refurbish and install those pieces of machinery (shop layout plans, power supply, rigging, etc.).
The schedule for this job is Monday through Friday, with Saturdays optional. You should expect to work 5:30 am - 3:30 pm at least, averaging 50-60 hrs on the clock per week.
It's a face paced role, with a lot of time on your feet and with tools in your hand - this is not a purely managerial or supervisory position. We need an experienced, hands on tech - you should be prepared to bend and lift heavy parts, work on your feet, and work from heights (ladders and lifts) when necessary. There are currently 2 assistant mechanics who can handle things like oil changes, basic fabrication, and other tasks you may need assistance with. Our production team runs 2 shifts, with about 30 or so operators per shift on the production floor.
Ancillary responsibilities will include helping with building and facilities maintenance, keeping things running well throughout our property.
If this sounds like a great spot for you, please don't hesitate to apply!
