What are the responsibilities and job description for the MRO Buyer position at R3 Composites?
Job Purpose: To plan and coordinate purchasing activity to ensure the necessary materials are available to meet sales objectives.
Responsibilities:
· Observe and obey all safety rules.
· Able to communicate and have a cooperative working relationship with all levels of team members within the facility, including but not limited to, production workers, supervision, and senior management.
· Train new employees & manage a small team of MRO Crib attendants.
· Responsible for all Tool Crib activities (inventory, incoming/outgoing goods, etc.)
· Works with Engineering and Maintenance to maintain appropriate re-order points and quantities.
· Track material usage and identify trends.
· Perform usage/slow-moving analysis and work to reduce inventory.
· Process all indirect material purchase requisitions.
· Create purchase orders for MRO items and prepare vendor-maintained inventory PO’s.
· Maintain supplier contacts.
· Perform skilled duties to support various special projects including process improvements.
· Assist with the processing of returns or repairs.
· Perform Vendor Management including assisting with analyzing and the negotiating of all contracts, pricing and resolving issues with vendors.
· Research, identify, evaluate and develop new MRO suppliers and vendors as needed.
· Monitor and report on vendor delivery performance, pricing history, and overall spending by vendor.
· Organize, update and retain product information files and purchase order records.
· Continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer services.
· Assist accounting with invoices and packaging slip discrepancies and questions.
· Ability to plan ahead and pay attention to detail.
· Be a team player and help out in any capacity needed.
Requirements:
· Associate in Business or four or more years of purchasing experience in manufacturing environment.
· Must be flexible to work various shifts when needed.
· Basic to intermediate knowledge and experience in office suite products and inventory management systems.
· Knowledge of mechanical parts and inventory methods.
· Ability to provide courteous and professional customer service to internal and external customers.
· Effective communication, written, and verbal.
· Follow and enforce directives and policies of the Company.
· Dependable transportation.
· Speak, read and write English fluently.
Working Conditions:
· Reports to VP of Sales and Purchasing
· Ability to perform effectively and efficiently under production and time pressures.
· Working around fiberglass material, debris and powder residue.
· Fast paced. Must be able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
· Able to work in extreme hot and cold environment.
