What are the responsibilities and job description for the Calibration Technician position at RaceTrac?
The Calibration Technician is responsible for ensuring the instruments, equipment, and testing devices for gas dispensers at RaceWay and RaceTrac convenience stores are calibrated correctly.
This individual works to maintain accurate and efficient gas gauges to comply with government regulations as well as save the organization money.
Travel Requirements:
- You will be provided a company vehicle and fuel card that all travel will be done with
- All travel time is paid time at hourly rate
- Able to regularly travel to different stores and locations within a designated area/territory consisting of Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoots gas dispensers to ensure each is calibrated correctly; makes the appropriate adjustments as necessary.
- Identifies trend areas of over or under delivery of gas to guests and provides recommendations for solutions.
- Ensures each job is performed at a high level of skill and with optimal customer service.
- Maintains knowledge of state and local regulations for calibration pumps.
- Has the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to repeatedly bend, stand and reach while on the job, with no or infrequent breaks.
Complies with the following safety expectations:
- Driving: Obeys all traffic laws (including speed limits) and uses common courtesy in congested areas.
- Working job site: When working outside, always wears a safety (reflective) vest to be more visible to motorists; wears a hard hat at construction sites.
- Certifications: Completes API safety certification; renews Class B Operator certification regularly.
- Footwear: Always wears steel-toe shoes/boots at any construction site.
- Hand-washing: Always washes hands after using the restroom, between each work order, and before handling food service equipment or tools used to fix food service equipment.
