Network Support Technician (Top Secret)

Title: Network Support Technician (Tier II)
Clearance: Top Secret (SCI Eligible)
Salary: Up to $80,000
Location: Washington, D.C. (Onsite)

Job Summary: The Network Support Technician (Tier II) is responsible for providing advanced technical support and assistance to end-users regarding network systems, hardware, and software. This role involves troubleshooting complex network issues, configuring network devices, and ensuring the stability and security of network infrastructure. A Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI is required for this position. A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field is preferred. Certifications such as CompTIA Network and Cisco CCNA are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities:

• Provide Tier II technical support for advanced network-related issues, including connectivity, configuration, and performance problems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network hardware and software issues in a timely manner.
• Configure and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Monitor network performance and security, implementing proactive measures to prevent and mitigate network threats.
• Collaborate with network engineers and other IT teams to design and implement network solutions.
• Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for reference and knowledge sharing.
• Provide training and guidance to junior network technicians and end-users on network-related topics and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with network security policies, standards, and protocols.
• Participate in network infrastructure projects and initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network support or related role.
• Active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, etc.).
• Experience with network troubleshooting tools and techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Network , Cisco CCNA, or equivalent are preferred but not required.

Additional Requirements:

• Flexible working hours, including availability for on-call duty and occasional weekend work.
• Willingness to undergo additional training as required.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
