Title: Network Support Technician (Tier II) Clearance: Top Secret (SCI Eligible) Salary: Up to $80,000 Location: Washington, D.C. (Onsite)
Job Summary: The Network Support Technician (Tier II) is responsible for providing advanced technical support and assistance to end-users regarding network systems, hardware, and software. This role involves troubleshooting complex network issues, configuring network devices, and ensuring the stability and security of network infrastructure. A Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI is required for this position. A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field is preferred. Certifications such as CompTIA Network and Cisco CCNA are preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:
Provide Tier II technical support for advanced network-related issues, including connectivity, configuration, and performance problems.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex network hardware and software issues in a timely manner.
Configure and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Monitor network performance and security, implementing proactive measures to prevent and mitigate network threats.
Collaborate with network engineers and other IT teams to design and implement network solutions.
Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for reference and knowledge sharing.
Provide training and guidance to junior network technicians and end-users on network-related topics and best practices.
Ensure compliance with network security policies, standards, and protocols.
Participate in network infrastructure projects and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in network support or related role.
Active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.
Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, etc.).
Experience with network troubleshooting tools and techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications such as CompTIA Network , Cisco CCNA, or equivalent are preferred but not required.
Additional Requirements:
Flexible working hours, including availability for on-call duty and occasional weekend work.
Willingness to undergo additional training as required.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
