Position Description Summary:
The Environmental Coordinator assists in collaborating with various departments to develop and execute strategies that align with our environmental objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Environmental Compliance:

Assist in monitoring and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.

Prepare and submit required environmental reports and documentation to relevant authorities.

Take immediate action to correct any identified deficiencies to ensure minimal adverse impact to the environment.
Environmental Assessments:

Assist with environmental assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with environmental policies and procedures.

Develop and maintain records related to environmental performance.
Environmental Initiatives:

Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement environmental initiatives, sustainability goals, and waste reduction strategies.
Hazardous Waste Management
-
Manage and optimize waste management practices, including recycling, hazardous waste generation and disposal, and energy use.

Coordinate the hazardous waste program to ensure safe handling, storage, transportation, and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with regulatory standards.

Implement waste reduction strategies to minimize environmental impact.
Employee Training and Engagement:
-
Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees and stakeholders on hazardous waste management protocols, best practices, housekeeping, and compliance requirements.

Promote environmental awareness and engagement among staff members.

Participate in and maintain certification in all required environmental courses.
Supplier and Vendor Relations:

Assist in researching and identifying environmentally responsible suppliers for supplying material and products.
Emergency Response:
-
Serve as a point of contact and provide expertise during environmental emergencies, ensuring prompt and effective response and containment of hazardous incidents.
This position is required to work second shift.
Security Clearance Requirement: NONE
Preferred Experience:
-
Knowledge of hazardous waste management regulations, including RCRA, and environmental compliance requirements.

Experience in coordinating environmental programs within a military or similar organizational context is advantageous.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively educate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical capabilities.
Essential Job Functions:
Work Environment: Primarily indoor office, Aircraft areas, workshops, and other industrial settings
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on occasion, sit or stand for long periods of time.
Other Essential Functions:
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, make rational decisions, and exercise good judgement.
Candidate must meet eligibility requirements for government issued credentials.
