We are searching for a talented engineer/scientist to join our Modeling, Analytics, and Simulation Sciences (MASS) team. We are looking for a motivated developer to work with a diverse team of computer scientists, engineers, data scientists, and operations research analysts to explore and develop solutions on complex development projects to support the US DoD and IC primarily through the Air Force Research Laboratory and the National Air & Space Intelligence Center. The MASS Operation advances Modeling, Simulation, & Analysis through framework, model, scenario, and analysis design, development, and execution, training, onsite support, guidance, and consulting. We work for the benefit of the US and its interests with government-owned frameworks including primarily AFSIM, ITASE, and SAFE-SiM. We are looking for self-driven candidates who love to learn and embrace the scientific and research mindset.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills
- US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- Self-motivational and collaborative technical skillset
- Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical and collaborative problem-solving skills
Required Experience
- Experience in C , Python, Rust, or similar languages
Desired Qualifications
- 3 years of programming experience in C , Python, Rust, or similar languages
- Experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems
- Experience with Agile software practices and usage of issue trackers like Jira and Gitlab
- Experience with developing and using Docker or similar containerized workflows
- Experience with integration of projects into CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Gitlab runners
- Experience developing in a windows environment with Visual Studio and Git
- Experience developing software for Linux environments
- Experience with CMake and building cross platform solutions
- Experience working with modeling and simulation tools, such as AFSIM, NGTS, and ITASE
- Experience working with or supporting AI environments
