Summary:
Lab Technicians are responsible for receiving, testing, analyzing, recording and reporting results of their tests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receiving, labeling, and safely storing samples to be tested
- Determining and performing tests needed for the analysis and report
- Recording tests and analyses and then reporting the results
- Discussing and answering any questions regarding the results
- Organizing and storing samples in accordance with all safety and other requirements to ensure the safety of personnel and integrity of the sample
- Cleaning and maintaining lab equipment, including recalibration of equipment
- Maintaining equipment records and daily work logs
Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic understanding of raw material chemistry (organic/inorganic, physical form, structure, impurities, by-products)
- Detail-oriented, accurate, and self-motivated
- Experience with hazardous materials a plus
Job Requirements:
- Contract 8 week role
- Core Business Hours, 40 hrs/week
- 0- 5% travel
- Lab Environment
- Must be able to stand up to 8 hours a day; wear hazardous material ventilation hood in laboratory setting; wear steel toe boots
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
