Part- Time Breast Radiologist

Position Summary

Radiology Associates of Florida (RAF) is seeking a Breast Radiologist to join our growing practice in one of Florida’s most prized communities—Sarasota.  This position offers a chance to work a part-time schedule without sacrificing the pride of contributing to a state-of-the-art breast imaging practice. We offer this position both to candidates interested in a remote from-home opportunity, and to candidates who would like to practice in beautiful Sarasota. 

Our Breast Imaging service provides full-service care for the state-of-the-art Breast Health center at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, the premier health system in the Sarasota region. The Breast Health service is a high-investment priority for our hospital partner, which recently opened a best-in-the-region tertiary care Cancer Institute. Our practice includes screening mammography (with a high penetration of tomosynthesis), diagnostic mammography and ultrasound, and breast MRI. We provide the whole range of breast interventions, using stereo, ultrasound and MRI.

Our remote Breast Radiologist will interpret screening mammography with tomosynthesis. They will direct and interpret a curated sub-selection of diagnostic mammography and ultrasound cases that are more compatible with a remote workflow, consisting predominately of BI-RADS 3 follow-ups and annual diagnostics.

Our on-site Breast Radiologists function as a team, working in the same physical footprint, allowing us to support one another. We have also developed a sophisticated infrastructure for remote work. Our robust network of remote physicians are all RAF radiologists. Each of our radiologists—remote and local—have tools for collaborating and communicating in real-time at the workstation, allowing for collegial consultations regardless of location. You will be a part of our team whether you are at home or physically at the Breast Health Center. In RAF, our Breast Radiologists are central members in a multi-specialty team. We work closely with our referring surgeons, primary care physicians and pathologists, participating in weekly clinical conferences. 

We anticipate a 3-day workweek, approximately 8am-5pm, but we are willing to work to find mutually workable arrangements. Upon joining RAF, an additional optional opportunity for those who are interested is an internal moonlighting program with unmatched flexibility, allowing radiologists to moonlight from home as much or as little as they prefer, without having to commit to extra shifts.

We are the teaching physicians for the University of South Florida Department of Radiology in Tampa. In Sarasota, our physicians staff the Florida State University College of Medicine, hosting medical students in their 3rd and 4th years. We also invite residents from the FSU Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine Residency programs to rotate in our departments.
