Under the clinical direction of the radiologists or physician supervising the procedure, and the technical direction of the Nuclear Med Supervisor, Technical Director or at times Diagnostic Imaging Center Manager; performs a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, both general nuclear medicine and cardiac imaging, at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Applicant will need to perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgement with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed radiopharmaceuticals for nuclear medicine diagnosis. At discretion and approval of employee and supervisor PET/CT duties can be included. The additional PET/CT role may require a career advancement agreement. The services should be provided with attention to detail and friendly guest services. Performs other related duties with the job classification or organizations as necessary or as assigned by the CEO, COO or CFO.

  • Receive and follow directives and instructions from radiologists, diagnostic imaging center managers, and technical director to properly perform position functions.
  • Address all patients, staff and visitors in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
  • Provides personal, patient and visitors personal protective equipment in accordance with safety standards and policies/procedures/protocols set in place by Radiology Regional and CDC guidelines.
  • Receives and follows the instructions and directives of the radiologist, nuclear medicine supervisor, technical director and diagnostic imaging center manager.
  • Understands and adheres to policies and procedures.
  • Encourages and supports employees to promote high levels of morale and productivity.
  • Adheres to all safety related issues in assigned areas of responsibility; including but not limited to radiation, occupational exposure controls, chemical, electrical, mechanical, etc.
  • Adheres to proper use of equipment and supplies to ensure that dollars are used in a responsible manner.
  • Receives and follows directives and instruction from radiologists, referring and supervising physicians, manager and director to properly perform the position function.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must possess a current registry in Nuclear Medicine ARRT (N) or CNMT and State of Florida Nuclear Medicine Certification.
  • Completed required hours of continuing education per certification or annual period, to satisfy nuclear medicine, State of Florida and Federal requirements.
  • CPR Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a nuclear medicine technologist is preferred.
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures of nuclear medicine and nuclear cardiology; and operation and maintenance of nuclear medicine and nuclear cardiology equipment, at a level normally acquired through an approved nuclear medicine technology school.
