About the Opportunity:
Help us succeed by doing your part as a member of our Prime Room as a Shift Adhesive Primer.
A Primer Applies adhesive primer to anodized surfaces of aluminum and titanium aircraft parts applying knowledge of surface preparation and painting techniques, using spray painting equipment, power tools, and work aids.
Major duties of a Primer include:
- Applies adhesive and corrosion primer coating to prepared aircraft structures in accordance with engineering planning documents and customer specifications.
- Masks and covers surfaces not to be painted.
- Uses spray equipment to spray specified amount of thickness of primer onto prepared surfaces
- Regulates controls on equipment to cure and dry paint or other coatings.
- Cleans spraying equipment and brushes with solvent.
- Reads and follows engineering pictorials for the masking and priming of parts, and the inspection of parts for defects.
- Records completion of painting operations on planning documents.
- Understands coating and cure times and schedules work to meet schedule requirements.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
- At least two years of industrial paint/prime application experience is desired.
- Must be proficient in the usage of hand tools.
