Our client along the coast of Maine is looking for a team player to fill the role of Laboratory Manager. This is a Full Time, permanent position. The Laboratory Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the laboratory including but not limited to proficiency, competency, safety, and quality control. Interested candidates should be proficient in all areas of the clinical laboratory and able to work on any bench or any shift when the need arises. AMT or ASCP certification is required.

Responsibilities of the Laboratory Manager:
- Assists in planning and organizing the duties and responsibilities of all laboratory personnel.
- Provides direct supervision of professional, technical, and phlebotomy staff.
- Prepares work schedules to provide adequate coverage of the laboratory through effective utilization of personnel.
- Participates in the selection, interviewing, and orientation of new personnel.
- Assesses staff competency, directly and in the performance evaluation process.
Requirements of the Laboratory Manager:
- Associate’s or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Medical Technology or related area of specialty.
- Certification/registration or certification/registry eligible as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician is required.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience as a generalist in a medical laboratory is required.
- Supervisory Experience preferred.
