In a nutshell: We’re a fan of old-school customer service when it comes to heating, cooling, plumbing and electrical needs in the Southeast Metro. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting team!

As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the company's financial obligations to vendors, suppliers, and other creditors. You will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Invoice Processing: Receive, review, and process invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper coding, approval, and documentation.

Payment Processing: Prepare and process payment runs, including checks, ACH payments, and credit card payments in accordance with payment terms and deadlines.

Vendor Management: Maintain vendor accounts, reconcile statements, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Month-End Close: Support month-end closing activities, including account reconciliation and accruals related to accounts payable.

Communication: Communicate effectively with internal departments and external vendors to resolve issues, answer inquiries, and provide assistance as needed.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and relevant regulations governing accounts payable processes.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the accounts payable function.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

2 years of experience in accounts payable or related finance/accounting role.

Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.

Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

Knowledge of accounting principles and familiarity with relevant regulations (e.g., GAAP).
