We hire experienced railroad personnel to provide expert services to Class 1 railroads and various short-line properties across the country.
Description
- Work directly with the RWIC Manager of Operations to assist in managing the Roadway Workers in Charge (RWICs) and supporting our UP Western Region
- Market and promote RPFS to Railroad officials, potential clients, and existing clients
- Interview candidates; helping to make hiring decisions
- Provide training for new and existing RWIC team members both in a classroom setting and out in the field
- Participate in revising and developing training programs
- Mentor RWICs to continue to improve performance and job skills
- Supervise and monitor RWIC team members
- Keep track of the daily schedule and stay in communication with the RWIC manager and the office for any changes to that schedule
- Supervise and monitor the daily work at job-sites
- Audit and evaluate the RWIC team and provide regular feedback to the team and to management
- Keep an inventory of the equipment in the field and repair equipment as needed. Report equipment distribution to the office team
- Assist with the review of Daily Work Reports (DWR) and approval of payroll and expenses for flagmen
- Provide technical support and radio programming support to the RWIC team in the field
- Provide a written plan to the management team at the end of each week with your week’s activities in addition to your goals for the following week.
- Act as a RWIC as needed/required.

Qualifications
- Proficient in MS Office
- Previous roll in a safety sensitive environment
- Previous Railroad experience
- Former RWIC and/or MOW experience or have held an officer’s position within a class 1 railroad.
- Must reside within one of the following states: California, Arizona, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, or Montana
- Willingness to travel 90% within the above listed states
