Overview
The Golf Area Manager represents Rain Bird in The Territory. The Golf Area Manager is responsible for profitably growing Rain Bird Solutions sales and gaining market share. The Golf Area Manager works independently and must be willing to travel extensively within the Territory. The successful candidate must be technically competent, a sound presenter in English and Spanish, results-oriented with a solid record of delivering results, highly self-motivated, and ideally, will have experience in the Golf irrigation or Golf business market in the Territory.
This position also requires close coordination and contact with the Golf Strategic Business Unit in the USA.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for growing sales and market share within the Territory
- Actively visit golf courses to identify needs for renovations and new constructions.
- Develop, execute, and manage distribution strategy in the market..
- Track and evaluate distributor performance and provide regular feedback to them to develop their business with Rain Bird.
- Create “solution-focused” packages to include Rain Bird products and aftersales technical support packages for golf course customers.
- Identify and meet with key market stakeholders, such as investors, developers, golf course management companies, distributors, contractors, architects, superintendents, specifiers, and consultants.
- Support golf customers by developing a thorough understanding of their businesses, identifying their needs, and Rain Bird products, services, or systems that meet those needs.
- Ensure the permanent update of the customers’ database via the CRM.
- Work closely with the International Business Manager to outline Rain Bird’s complete range of capabilities to decision-makers
- Evaluate the local market, provide recommendations on pricing promotions, product introductions, and marketing actions, and build strategic planning for the market.
- Requires intensive traveling of about 60% of his/her time.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA or graduate degree
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills- bilingual in English and Spanish
- 7 years of successful product sales and/or specification experience
- Demonstrable ability to achieve sales results individually and through others
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, leadership, and presentation skills.
- Experience selling through distribution and contractor channels.
- Desire to grow within the organization and willingness to accept new challenges.
Desired Qualifications:
- MBA Degree
- Knowledge of the golf course market and familiarity with key influencers in the industry
- Working knowledge of irrigation design, installation, repair, and product application
