SUMMARY:

As a Forensic Interviewer, you will provide forensic interviews for children referred to the Child Advocacy Center (CAC), participate as part of the multi-disciplinary team, and will be required to testify in court.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

· Providing quality forensic interviews and ensure proper documentation of all interviews.

· Attend nationally recognized 5-day forensic interview.

· Remain current with trends, research, and knowledge in the field of child forensic interviews.

· Maintain current knowledge of research, statutes, and studies related to expert testimony as a forensic interviewer.

· Testify in court as an expert witness in juvenile and criminal cases as applicable.

· Remain current on knowledge of the dynamics of child abuse and neglect and its impact on children and families.

· Remain up to date on the roles of the various multi-disciplinary team members.

· Assure proper documentation in all case files and prepares reports as requested.

· Develop and maintain a professional and equal relationship with all multi-disciplinary team members.

· Participate in training of multi-disciplinary team members in our eleven-county area.

· Provide education and awareness regarding child abuse in CAC area.

· Participate in the evaluation, quality control and future development of the CAC program.

· Represent Rainbow House in a professional manner in all situations.

· Will be cross trained to cover the role of Family Advocate if needed.

· Participate in projects and assignments as requested.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Master’s degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice or related field with at least two years of experience in the field of child abuse investigations or a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice or related field with at least 5 years of experience. This is required. Please do not apply if you do not meet the education requirements. This requirement is not optional.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must have the ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations and to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Must also be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of members, clients, customers and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Must have the ability to calculate figures and amounts accurately using basic math, algebra, and geometry skills and to compute and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, graphs, interest, area, and volume to practical situations and reports.

REASONING ABILITY:

Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists and to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is generally in an office environment and occasionally works in outside weather. The noise level in the work environment is moderately noisy.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Cooperation and flexibility required due to frequent interruptions in a fast paced, dynamic environment presenting multiple demands, constantly shifting schedules and priorities, and simultaneous deadlines. Ability to adjust work schedule and provide evening and weekend coverage for events is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
