Rainbow Treecare (a division of Rainbow Tree Company) is seeking an energetic and hard-working individual to join our team as a Heavy Equipment Operator. ?This is a full time (40 hours a week average), and your work location will be based in Minnetonka, MN.  

What You Will Do: 

• Safely drive and operate trucks of up to 56,000 lbs. GVW for the Pruning Division of Rainbow Tree Company as well as our grapple loader. 

• Understanding of the hazards of working with storm damaged trees and effecting removals using heavy equipment such as cranes. 

• Knowledge of daily tree care operations both on the ground and aloft. 

• Report to the general foreperson on training and safety needs or any other issue regarding the well-being of crew members. 

• Work always with a high regard for the safety of self and others, following all necessary safety procedures and using required safety equipment. 

• Perform manual labor including loading and unloading trucks and working with maintenance and forestry crews outside of the truck. 

• Perform and foster an environment of safe work practices and report safety issues promptly to appropriate staff. 

Qualifications:  

• Class B CDL  

• High School Diploma or GED 

• 2 years field and operating equipment experience 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• 3 years or more of field and equipment operating experience 

• CPR and First Aid certification achieved within six (6) months of hire 

• Hydraulic, forklift experience a plus

Physical Demands and Work Environment:  

Work is performed outdoors in any weather element throughout urban and rural areas. May be required to bend, reach, stoop, and lift objects; may be exposed to safety hazards and hazardous tools and equipment; during which safety precautions must be followed, including use of safety equipment. Must be able to lift 50 pounds at any given time.
