RAKAR designs, manufactures, and supplies engineered, precision plastic components and related materials for use in Aerospace, Defense, Medical and Industrial Applications, specializing in Thermoset, Thermoplastic and Resin Metal Overmolding. We provide thermoplastic transfer, compression, and injection molding services; as well as precision machining and tool making. The position of Cavity Change Technician is to perform cavity change processes required for product realization. This position is expected to ensure the cavity change operations performed meet customer requirements, quality specifications and are completed in a timely manner to meet customer on-time delivery requirements.
The essential job functions are as follows:
Read work instructions and determine cavity specifications for manufacturing.
Complete & Sign Mold Change Order & return to Injection or Transfer dept.
Complete Job Set Up Card when required and return to the job traveler for inspection to approve.
Measure cavities and mold bases to check for alignment using hand tools (calipers & mics, drop indicators)
Locate mold bases and cavities.
Clean and lubricate cavities, molds, and mold bases.
Visually inspect pins then insert and adjust core pins.
Smooth surface of molds with scraping tools or sandpaper.
Install and assemble cavities.
Add lubricants to the mold base prior to production.
Assemble mold bases according to work instruction.
Visual inspection gates, check orientation of cavity and the pins check are concentric on both sides.
Identify mold or cavity discrepancies and notify Team Leader of required reworks for cavities or molds bases.
Perform mold and cavity maintenance.
Report via email any findings, eg: wear and tear, damage areas, worn leader pins, pot bushings while performing cavity changes and cleaning and stripping a mold base.
Education/ Skills Requirement:
Highschool Diploma or GED Completion , desired
Proficient in English (verbal and written)
Bi-Lingual English/ Spanish, desired

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
