Job Description

The Measurement Technician will perform Aesthetic and functional Gap & Flush measurements for newly manufactured Prototype vehicles. The Measurement Technician will take measurements of alignments, Gaps & flush for vehicle interior as well as exterior and Chassis components subsequently record results in the designated system and templates. These results and any observations from the build variances will be reqd. to communicate to the responsible Geometric Assurance Engineers & commodity Leader for further evaluation.

Job Responsibilities

· Measurement of build objectives on prototype trucks involving but not limited to vehicle Cab exterior, Interior and Chassis components.

· Maintain calibration of quality control equipment.

· Perform measurement across all phases of the build.

· Develop and maintain measurement reports.

· Evaluate data and draft reports, noting any relevant deviations from the pre-defined build objectives and assist in root cause analysis of the issues.

· Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency.

· Knowledge of Software tools like Polyworks or Metrologic will be a plus.

· Experienced in gap and flush measurements using laser light Calipri measuring tools.

Qualifications

· Minimum of a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.

· Skilled in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

· Preferred to be from Automotive background with Heavy commercial vehicle knowledge.

· Minimum 5 years of relevant Manufacturing or Quality Control / measurement experience.

· Ability to use basic hand tools and measurement equipment.

· Strong working knowledge of basic mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, and proportions.

· Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

· Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information.

· Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
