ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.
- Manage and coordinates annual North Carolina Department of Justice mandated training program.
- Maintain training records as required by the North Carolina Department of Justice.
- Schedule approved officers’ training requests.
- Maintain North Carolina Department of Justice’s instructor certification.
- Manage and supervise the Police Training Officer Program for new Officers.
- Assist RDUAA Human Resources by attending Job Fairs and meeting with Basic Law Enforcement Training students about employment opportunities.
- Assist RDUAA Human Resources by scheduling NPOST examinations, Oral Review Boards, Physicals, Physical Fitness Assessments, Polygraphs, Psychological Examinations, Background Investigations, ProfileXT, and Firearms Qualifications for law enforcement applicants.
- Locates training resources for shift supervisors.
- Assists Law Enforcement Lieutenant with special assignments
- Performs related duties as required
- *MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience
Education: Associate’s degree in Law Enforcement or related field or equivalent work experience
Experience: 5 to 8 years of law enforcement experience
Required Licenses or Certifications: Intermediate Law Enforcement Certification,
NC CJ Education & Training Standards General Instructor Certification and Firearms Instructor Certification.

Hiring Range: $57,423.26 - $80,873.74 (Salary is commensurate with education and experience.)
