Branch Manager III

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:

Manage and direct the overall operations of the Branch, including sales, staff, security, and overall maintenance. Expedite the work flow ensuring the quality service to our members following credit union policies and procedures. Align branch staff, sales and operations with the strategic and operational goals of the Credit Union.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

SALES AND SERVICE

  • Create, plan, organize, and oversee the activities of the Branch Staff to ensure branch growth through the implementation of a Branch Sales/Service plan.
  • Continually strive to create profitable business through pro-active cross selling and relationship enhancement.
  • Create, develop, and lead weekly sales meetings.
  • Monitors the flow and quality of member service, including number of transactions and/or volume of traffic.
  • Responsible for ensuring all service standards are being adhered to from branch staff.
  • Monitor / manage sales tracking in conjunction with the Sales / Service plan.
  • Responsible for branch growth of sales and credit union services:
    • Retail deposit products / services
    • Retail loan products / services
    • Commercial deposit / services
    • Refer appropriate Commercial and Real Estate loan products
    • Cross sell ratio
  • Manage and enhance the growth of a quality loan portfolio with a focus on retail lending.
  1. MANAGING, LEADING, AND COACHING
  • Assist in the hiring and training of new staff.
  • Effectively supervise, motivate, and utilize Branch staff to ensure that all Branch operations and internal controls are completed in an accurate and timely manner according to the Credit Union Operations Policy and Procedures.
  • Delegate and assign responsibilities to Branch staff and ensure adequate training.
  • Effectively promote teamwork work environment. Lead by example. Coach weaknesses, recognize strengths.
  • Maintain staffs timekeeping records and daily performance, including counselings in HR software.
  • Conduct Performance Reviews for all Branch Staff reporting to this position.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of regulations and Credit Union Policies affecting operations, security, and lending.

 

  1. BRANCH SECURITY AND COMPLIANCE
  • Authorize exceptions to normal policy or procedures when circumstances warrant and deviation is justified.
  • Ensure protection of credit union interest in matters of documentation and adherence to policies and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Institute and implement branch procedure changes, as well as overall policy and procedure changes.
  • Responsible for proper control and monthly audit of traveler checks, money orders, cashier checks and DEBIT cards issued to branch.
  • Verify security and internal control procedures are in place, efficient and adhered to.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper control and accountability of the cash maintained in the branch and ATM.
  • Responsible for ATM operations, including security, control and accountability for the Crosstown Branch.
  • Ensure current postings of financials, rates, and marketing material. Maintain an adequate up to date supply of brochures, forms, and office supplies.
  • Audits branch vault (under dual control) periodically, (at least quarterly and before vacations, extended leave and terminations) and forward documentation to internal auditor upon request.
  • Develops and prepares an annual budget report for the department. Review budget periodically and ensures all expenditures are within approved budget amounts.
  1. Ensure facility is maintained in excellent condition and monthly safety and security inspections are performed and Branch Inspection is completed.
  2. Other duties as assigned.

 

RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS

 

Supervise Approximately: 7 Directly and 25 to 30 Indirectly

Reports To: AVP Operations

Contact: Member contact is face to face and by telephone on a frequent basis.

 

 

Requirements


JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Most important to this position is to be highly motivated with good communication skills and capable of leadership by example. Responsible for handling difficult situations. Must be competent and knowledgeable in consumer laws, regulations and procedures as well as branch operations policies and procedures. Must possess the knowledge and skill to use routine computer programs and assist staff as necessary.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Eight (8) years of progressive financial experience

 

  • Must have operational and lending experience
  • Five (5) year of  management experience
  • Must live within 30 to 35 miles of facility
  • Must have valid Drivers License.

EDUCATION:

Bachelors degree. Related experience in lieu of degree will be considered. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Position involves wrist/hand manipulation; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; ability to bend, stoop and reach overhead. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision for frequent viewing of computer monitor and review of documents. Communication abilities required by this job includes clarity in speech and hearing for effective staff/member interaction.

 

EQUIPMENT SKILLS:

Personal computer with windows environment, calculator, copy machine, ATM card embosser, currency counter, teller cash machines and fax machine.
