Position Overview

2nd Shift Kernersville

This position will be responsible for facilitating work and process flow, as well as the implementation of associate’s performance training. The position will also participate in safety improvements and ensuring adherence of the 5S Program. The position will also serve as the primary trainer for all powered equipment throughout the facility.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

2nd Shift Kernersville

General responsibilities and typical activities for this position will include, but are not limited to the following:
§ Work in partnership with the management staff, by helping to plan, implement, and communicate department objectives.
§ Serve as team leader within work area.
§ Work with supervision to implement, update, and store standard operating procedures (manuals, file / folder maintenance, etc)
§ Work with supervision on improving process flow and reporting
§ Train individual team members, including existing associates who are being crossed trained as well as new associates
§ Work with manager / supervisor to prepare training materials for each area / sub-function of responsibility
§ Correct inventory issues when applicable and appropriate
§ Resolve floor space utilization issues
§ Assist supervision in certifying associates in skill levels and identifying best practices
§ Keep associates informed of any upcoming training and preparation
§ Must be willing to perform all Distribution Center job functions as business need dictates
§ Develop / run reports as assigned to facilitate avoidance of potential production / service level expectation issues
§ Possess the ability to coordinate additional special projects as assigned
§ Other administrative duties as assigned
§ Observe safety and security procedural adherence: report unsafe conditions / acts, also operates powered equipment safely
§ Assist associates with issues pertaining to their work assignments
§ 85% of time spent on the floor within area(s) of responsibility
§ Promote a culture of respect and an atmosphere of teamwork to foster a positive working environment.
§ Adhere to company safety guidelines to prevent personal injury and product and facility damage.
§ Maintain understanding of operations and willingness to be cross trained in all areas of DC.

Work Conditions:
§ This position interacts with all levels of internal personnel, primarily DC Operations personnel. May include interaction with external personnel (truck drivers).
§ The job encounters recurring work situations of a routine nature where the ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
§ Accuracy is required in performing all functions of the positions; errors in work could cause delays in schedules.
§ This position requires the individual to be ready to start work on–time daily.
§ Inside warehouse environment which may operate under various room temperatures.
§ May on a continuous basis walk, bend, push, pull and lift up to seventy pounds (70lbs) while practicing proper safety procedures, as well as work in a standing position for extended periods of time.
§ Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

Qualifications:
§ The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job.
§ High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is preferred.
§ A proven track record in school or work experience utilizing good communication skills and basic mathematical skills.
§ Must have the proven ability to consistently and independently follow policies and procedures; written and verbal instruction and meet required schedules and/or deadlines.
§ Previous experience in a team-oriented environment with an emphasis on high volume, measurable performance and understanding of how individual performance affects others in a team environment.
§ Overall years of experience may range from 3-4 years, preferably within a distribution/warehousing environment.
§ Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
§ Demonstrated accuracy and an ability to follow-through on assigned tasks
§ Previous experience in a team-oriented environment with an emphasis on high volume, measurable performance and understanding of how individual performance affects others in a team environment.
§ Ability to perform, and a history of performing, job duties in a safe manner.
§ Must be willing and able to pass certification testing, operate and train associates on powered equipment.
§ Thorough working knowledge of applicable PkMS and RF functions
§ Dependability – responds to management direction and follows instructions well
§ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
§ Analytical skills –ability to analyze operational situations and develop / implement the proper strategy / approach
§ Strong demonstrated written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
§ Must have experience directing and monitoring the work of others
§ Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
§ Must be able to manage workload based on changing demands.
§ Other duties as assigned. Essential duties are subject to change in order to keep up with new or expanding business models.

§ Must be able to work all scheduled shift hours to include, but not limited to, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts.

§ Demonstrates flexibility in meeting unexpected and/or planned work fluctuations and shift schedules changes, up to and including weekends.

§ Must meet internal posting eligibility requirements
