You will join our Health Safety & Security Team supporting our project teams and employees. As our new Health & Safety Specialist, you will be an active part of our team that manages and monitors safety programs, policies, and procedures. You will work in collaboration with H&S Managers and will evaluate the organization's procedures, facilities and equipment by conducting inspections to identify conditions and implementing safeguards and solutions, ensuring employees are aware of safety requirements and are prepared to follow safety procedures.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
Health & Safety Specialists plan, develop, review and administer Ramboll’s safety program. Update, establish and create new policies and procedures to meet current and known future safety and health requirements. As directed, complete safety audits of field operations and facilities and make recommendations to eliminate workplace hazards, improve performance and eliminate avoidable accidents. Responsibilities include:
· Plan and conduct facility audits to assure compliance with safety regulations and to prevent hazardous situations and safety violations
· Represent Ramboll on environmental and safety issues.
· Supervise support personnel in the coordination of environmental and safety compliance
· Correct unsafe behaviors when observed and demonstrate ability to follow-up when facing resistance from one or more involved parties
· Lead safety on large EPC/EPCM projects and facilitate efforts by project teams and resource managers (RMs) to effectively manage safety
· Resolve safety issues between Ramboll project teams, subcontractors, and clients while maintaining Ramboll’s compliance with regulations, standards, and internal procedures
· Facilitate efforts by project teams to effectively manage safety
· Participates actively in creating a safety culture in the office and at the jobsite
· Adheres to the policies and standards set forth in Ramboll’s safety policies
· Responsible for compliance in reporting to environmental/OSHA standards
· Implement general safety policies and procedures to be followed by co-workers to maintain compliance to local, State and federal requirements
· Manage the investigation and required documentation of incidents and work-related injuries and illnesses. Coordinate treatment and return to work with America’s health, safety & security department
· Monitor legislation and regulatory changes related to loss prevention
· Assess, develop and introduce new topics such as prevention of violence in the workplace, ergonomic programs, safety driving, emergency preparedness, and other topics that pertain to new safety trends.
· Present or facilitate safety training programs to assure understanding of regulations and Ramboll policies
· Other duties as assigned.

We are looking for Health & Safety Specialist with experience in construction, industrial and remediation safety and the ability to provide technical safety support and leadership. · Confident knowledge of DEP, EPA, DOT, OSHA, NFPA, ANSI regulations/standards applicable to safety activities
· Ability to make sound judgments independently
· Detail oriented and the ability to assess and analyze situations quickly
· Professional and confident persona when correcting unsafe behaviors that are observed or reported at projects or office locations
· Build and maintain effective working relationships with employees, management and regulatory agencies
· Good presentation, interpersonal and written communications skills
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Basic qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in safety or industrial hygiene preferred
· 6 plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Successfully completed (within six months of starting position) and receive retraining annually, as required:
o OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety and Health Course. (Required or ability to obtain)
o OSHA 40-Hour Hazardous Waste & Emergency Response. (A plus or ability to obtain)
· Ability to complete light to medium physical activities
· Ability to travel 20-50%, with a potential for extended periods of 100% travel when assigned to field projects.
· Ability to act calmly and effectively in emergency situations
Preferred qualifications:
· A safety designation or advanced educational training in fields related to accident prevention, occupational health and safety, or employee training is highly desirable.
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Demonstrated leadership skills
