To succeed in this role, you must have a solid technical background within safety engineering in energy related industries. 

You will join our Safety department
As our new Technical Safety Engineer you will be part of a strong department of around 22 safety experts located in Copenhagen, Esbjerg and Vejle. The position can be based in any of those three locations depending on where you live, and you will be working closely together with colleagues in Denmark, Norway and other parts of the world. The team is a mix of younger and more experienced colleagues with many interesting and challenging projects to deliver now and in the near future within the energy sector. 

We are actively involved in the transition to greener fuels such as biomass, hydrogen, methanol and ammonia and offshore wind. The focus areas of the department are power plants, district heating systems, onshore and offshore facilities within Offshore Wind, Power to X technologies and Carbon Capture. We cover all safety aspects of projects including concept and feasibility studies, detailed engineering, building owner consultancy, and authorizations. 

Our core competences are HSE management, risk assessment (qualitative and quantitative), risk identification workshops (HAZID, HAZOP and Design Review), Process Functional Safety and CE marking. 

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

• Management of functional safety from early design to implementation as well as the operation and maintenance phase. Lay out a strategy for the implementation of security throughout the project phase.
• Lead and participate in safety and risk workshops where you will be responsible for workshop preparation and for documenting findings and actions. This includes both HAZID, HAZOP and ALARP workshops
• Perform ATEX assessment for high-risk plants within natural gas, hydrogen, ammonia and bio fuels (dust). 
• Leading, coordination and preparation of CE marking for process equipment within Power-to-X. 
• Evaluating risk and risk reducing measures according to the ALARP principle

• M.Sc. or B. Sc. Degree in Engineering or Natural Science Education (Physics, Mathematics or Chemistry) or education as a marine engineer.
• Preferably 5 years of experience with engineering from the energy sector or process industry.
• Experience with risk and safety or design and operation of process plants such as power plants, oil and gas, Chemical or medical industry  
• Excellent English skills since this is our corporate language 

It will be an advantage if you have skills within one or more of our core competences:

• HAZOP, HAZIP and LOPA
• Risk review on conceptual design
• Functional safety – SIL safety systems (IEC61511 og IEC61508)
• Safety systems for boilers, turbines, district heat
• Fire and explosion risk assessment
• CE marking of process systems in the scope of Machinery Directive, Pressure Equipment Directive, ATEX Directive – global or detailed level
• Experience with leading and preparing safety reports and documentation for the authorities 
• Understanding of the work required to perform risk assessments/risk modelling, consequence analysis and quantitative risk analyses in design projects
