ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

We do our best to describe the job, but the life of a Litigation Paralegal at Ramos Law is all about life in the fast lane. You never know what you might have to do to get the best, quickest result. We believe in doing whatever it takes, not acting based on job title.

As a Paralegal in the Litigation Group, you should expect to:

• Receive ongoing case development training.
• Handle a docket of cases with various attorneys, including sometimes managing the administrative staff assigned to that docket.
• Review and follow the detailed case plan from the attorney for every client.
• Order and obtain medical records and bills as needed.
• Identify key medical records.
• Investigate and obtain key documents needed.
• Maintain and organize paperless files with particular emphasis on the organization of medical records, bills and litigation files.
• Review all court orders and enter all deadlines for filings if needed and prepare deadline summary sheet.
• Get to know your client.
• Keep your client up to date.
• Develop positive, honest, and cooperative working relationships with adjusters.
• Prepare initial and expert disclosures for review.
• Interface with opposing counsel for scheduling issues.
• Interface with the court system as needed to obtain information and for scheduling.
• Assist with drafting and responding to discovery.
• Proactively prepare matters for distribution by tracking the value tab, and obtaining balance confirmations.
• Assist in trial preparation.
• Excel in a paperless environment.
• Document all your work in the system.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
