JOB SUMMARY:

Serves as a liaison between the Operations Manager and Forklift Operators in communicating day-to-day assignments and priorities. Responsible for the safe operation of electric forklifts and their designed attachments to perform unloading, stacking, and picking functions timely and accurately.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

I. Supervision

· Comprehend daily plan, priorities, and daily assignments, and effectively communicate those to the warehouse crew.

· Ask questions and suggest solutions to problems.

· Display Leadership qualities.

· Serve as a positive role model and ambassador for Biagi Bros.

· Maintain security of assigned keys and security codes.

· Report inventory anomalies, breaches in facility security, and employee safety issues.

· Lead by example to set a positive tone and work attitude with warehouse staff.

II. Forklift Operation

· Safe and proficient operation of various forklifts and attachments.

· Load and unload trailers, containers, and railcars following all safety procedures.

· Daily use of high jump Warehouse Management System, using barcode scanners/readers to process all product movements and transactions.

· Use of computers to check orders/receipts/inventory in high jump as needed.

· Complete all receivers thoroughly and accurately and turn in with all appropriate paperwork and attachments (including pictures if required).

· Stage and stack all products square and straight according to the requirements provided by each specific account and by the Biagi Bros procedures.

· Accurately pull appropriate product from assigned locations.

· Verify all aspects of outbound orders prior to loading.

· Load all outbound orders following load diagrams specific to the product being shipped and various trailer limitations.

· Manually stacking and wrapping product for shipment

· Participate in inventory cycle counts.

· Perform general housekeeping duties as needed.

· Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

· Punctuality and regular attendance is mandatory.

III. Safety and Security

· Attend all safety/staff meetings, sign in, and participate.

· Complete and submit daily forklift safety check list.

· Cut and remove seals from railcars, trailers, and containers using appropriate tools and eye protection.

· All outside carrier drivers must be accompanied by a Biagi Bros employee. Stop/report any non Biagi Bros personnel wandering through the facility.

· Ensure all bay doors and pedestrian doors are closed at breaks and lunches and secure at the end of each shift.

IV. Housekeeping

· Perform all housekeeping duties to support food grade warehouse requirements including sweeping and mopping if necessary, sweeping and picking up debris in trailers, containers, railcars and warehouse floor. Plus, sweeping exterior docks and picking up broken glass, seals, and debris on railroad tracks.

· Follow break-room clean-up/garbage removal schedule

· Dispose of garbage using dock or self-dumping hoppers only.

· Safely and appropriately operate floor scrubber for dry and wet applications following established procedures.

· Recycle broken pallets, plastic, and cardboard per established guidelines.

V. Inventory Control

· Perform bi-monthly, periodic, and/or annual inventories as directed by the accounts Biagi Bros service.

· Perform secondary and cycle counts as directed by management.

· Report any inventory anomalies to account managers or warehouse manager found during day-to-day operations.

· Report/document any damages found during unloading process or found later in location through use of designated forms.

VI. Communication/Professionalism

· Represent Biagi Bros appropriately in relationship with owners, management, peers, employees, accounts, customers, carriers, and suppliers.

Supervises the forklift warehouse crew.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in a fast-paced warehouse setting with exposure to moving equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

A. 2 to 3 years of forklift experience in a warehouse environment.

B. Experience with inventory control and cycle counts.

C. Sound communication skills must be able to communicate fluently in English.

D. Basic computer skills.

E. Must be able to repetitively lift 50 lbs.

Physical Job Description

Typical Workplace Environmental Conditions: Primarily work is performed in a temperature-controlled warehouse where there is exposure to noise and moving equipment.

Equipment Used:

Will work with the following: Sit down forklifts with various attachments. RF scan gun Desktop computer Batteries or propane tanks depending on equipment power source.

Essential Physical Tasks:

Ability to lift to 50lbs. Able to sit for extending periods of time and may be exposed to bouncing or bumpy rides Must be able to walk around the warehouse Must be able to change the battery or propane tank on forklift as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $20.01 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
