The Revenue Manager's Essential Purpose is to oversee the day-to-day operation of the Revenue Management Department in conjunction with the Corporate Director of Revenue Management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- To assist Reservations and Marketing with meeting and/or exceeding revenue goals and to make appropriate adjustments for achieving optimal results.
- To submit STR data for all hotels where not submitted electronically, including weekly, monthly, and yearly data as required, along with room, food & beverage, spa, golf, and other venues.
- To actively participate in group discussions to optimize revenue for each property.
- To complete online shops to reconcile pricing online through various channels and to recommend pricing changes based on competitive analysis.
- To track/report production updates on various promotions to Revenue teams and to make recommendations and changes to existing or future promotions, as needed.
- To prepare weekly yield meetings documentation for all properties and to actively participate in discussions regarding yield management and yield strategies to achieve optimal results.
- To provide monthly OWS revenue reports by segment and to recommend ways to optimize online bookings.
- To work with Reservations, Sales and Marketing teams in optimization efforts.
- To evaluate/update Delphi MAR rates in all property Delphi systems as required to evaluate and revise price points and minimum acceptable rates for Sales Managers.
- To analyze/evaluate demand position reports and set pricing restriction/controls in all distribution channels, including CRS, GDS, Wholesale, Flash sale, and 3rd party channels and to recommend price adjustments to property revenue teams.
- To evaluate forecasts/occupancy trends by utilizing regret, pace reports, STR data and other available reports and to make recommendations regarding pricing changes or promotional campaigns in collaboration with the Marketing team.
- To maintain historical reports, including Leisure Pace, Day of week market Segment report.
- To manage rate/package content in the PMS/GDS/3rd party.
- To complete group displacement analysis with group Sales Managers, as needed, and to provide group financial impact and recommendation to Sales Managers.
- To maintain membership with HSMAI and other hospitality organizations as identified by the Corporate Director of Revenue Management, in support of industry knowledge, networking and mentoring.
JOB KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATIONAL LEVEL: Bachelor's dress from a four-year college or university required. English fluency required. Must have minimum three years experience in revenue management or finance, preferably in gold and/or hospitality. Ability to operate a car; valid California driver's license and proof of personal automobile insurance coverage required.
SKILLS AND APTITUDES: Detail oriented, organized, efficient and able to multi-task. Strong written and verbal skills. Ability to work under pressure. Advanced in Microsoft Excel, proficient in Microsoft SQL and Word. Learns quickly and understands revenue maximization theories, GDS and Internet inventory systems. Courteous, friendly, and professional manner. Good team player. Able to work productively with little supervision. Trustworthy and reliable. Ability to manage and present recommendations with conviction and research.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Works indoors approximately 95% of shift in temperature- controlled, clean and well-lighted office. Works outdoors approximately 5% of shift, in varying weather conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Sits at desk approximately 85% of shift. Stands/walks approximately 15% of shift. Moderate to heavy use of computers and phones daily. Bends, stoops and reaches to perform routine tasks. Must be able to work well under pressure. Must be flexible to work long, sometimes irregular hours. Occasionally required to handle and move objects weighing up to 40 lbs. over short distances.
TRAVEL: This position is expected to travel for work. The frequency of travel may vary, but is expected to include regular short trips between locations and infrequent extended travel.
