Location: Based out of the Greater New Orleans area fulfillment center
Schedule: 5 days per week in the office
Position Summary:
At Randa Logistics the Industrial Engineer uses data gathering, reporting and analysis techniques to drive continues improvement and process enhancements across our logistics operations. In additional this role will evaluate core Labor Management processes, times studies and elemental determinations within the fulfillment centers and provide data analysis for new implementations to improve the internal and external customer experience.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and improve operational costs surrounding staffing, units per hour (UPH) or cost per unit (CPU), and cost per unit Re-engineering & design of process flows, layouts, workstations
- Work performance evaluation and time studies to assist with process creation and labor standards
- Assist with logistics forecasting, staffing, productivities, capital expenditures, Capex justifications, improvement analyses
- Maintain engineered labor standards and associated labor-management programs and reporting
- Supports labor planning analytics and modeling for peak and non-peak labor requirements
- This position will require job shadowing and occasionally performing in fulfillment center/warehouse roles such as picking and packing to understand and/or to support to improve the process
Education/License Requirements:
- Required: Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or a similar field
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities (e.g. software proficiency, language, project management):
Proficiency with using AutoCAD, Excel & Project
Working Conditions/Physical Demands (e.g. lifting 50 lbs., travel requirements):
Moderate travel is required between facilities and trade shows
Core Behavioral Attributes (e.g. Interpersonal and communication skills):
- Good communication skills (verbal and in writing)
- Ability to react quickly and work well in a dynamic environment
- Ability to organize work activities with attention to detail and good follow-through skills
