Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in dental assisting and a passion for patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, ensuring efficient and smooth operations
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, making sure they are clean and well-stocked
- Take and develop dental X-rays as instructed by the dentist
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring and trimming models, fabricating temporary crowns, and taking impressions
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical documentation and treatment plans
- Follow proper infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique throughout all procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures, anticipating their needs and providing necessary instruments and materials
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office's appointment calendar
- Handle billing and insurance claims processing using dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
Skills:
- Proven experience in dental assisting, with knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
- Proficiency in taking dental X-rays and operating X-ray equipment
- Familiarity with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for patient record management
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic technique in a dental setting
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively educate patients on oral hygiene practices
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM technology for digital impressions is preferred
